Abstract

Long-span cable-stayed bridges are designed to provide connectivity over features like valleys, rotary square flyovers, mountains, and rivers. The cable-stayed bridge offers sufficient stability, makes use of structural elements, and further benefits from low maintenance and design. The site's topography and the bridge's intended use will have a significant impact on the design of the structure. A suspension bridge is a type of bridge where the deck is held aloft by suspension cables that are positioned beneath vertical suspenders. The main structural elements of a suspension bridge system are stiffening girders/trusses, main suspension cables, main towers, and cable anchorages at each end of the bridge.
