Over head water tanks are backbone of water supply system. R.C.C. design is most common in the field of construction of overhead tanks. Although, over the period of time, R.C.C. Structure starts deterioration due to internal and external causes and thus requirement of safe structure arise. Earlier, demolition of existing R.C.C. overhead water tanks takes place, followed by construction of new structure, which is very expensive and time consuming. Strengthening of R.C.C. overhead tank is much better option to enhance the stability and increase the life period of structure. And also it requires less economy and time. Steel bracing have proven to provide more stability and toughness to any structure, when provided precisely. These bracing would bear both lateral and vertical load in a very safe manner. In this study, application of Y-type steel bracing at each stage of R.C.C. Overhead tank have been discussed to strengthen the existing R.C.C. overhead water tank.
